The article I will use is titled "Same-Sex Marriage". This article can be found the Issues and Controversies Database. This article is relevant to my topic because it provides a definition of marriage by people who are against gay marriage as well as people who are for gay marriage. The article was written with the help of many other sources that are listed within the bibliography. This shows that the information given is supported. The purpose of this article is to show you the different view points on this topic.

In this article it talks about how the America family has changed over time and that same-sex marriage is just another way it is changing. It shows what someone against same-sex marriage defines marriage as well as someone who is for same-sex marriage. Those against it feel like if we make it legal we opening doors to other issues such as incest. Those who are for same-sex marriage say that religion should not be a factor in making the decision to make it legal or not. They say that a religious group can make their own rules within their group but it should not affect the political decision.

  1. For your next source I want you to branch out from the Issues & Controversies database. Look for an academic journal article or even a popular magazine article.

Looks like you're starting to get the hang of the credibility assessment with some room to grow. For example, is the article current? What specific sources are used within the article? How or why do they seem trustworthy? Be specific and concrete so your audience can understand your logic and conclusions.

Your overall summary is easy to understand; remember to keep it between two and four sentences. Look for ways to make what you have a bit more concise.
